Navigating international shipping for your K-Beauty products can seem complex, but at Mayk, we're here to make it as straightforward as possible. We offer various shipping terms to provide flexibility, and we'll guide you through the process.
We offer several International Commercial Terms (Incoterms) to best suit your needs. These terms define exactly where the responsibility for shipping costs and risks transfers from the manufacturer to your brand:
Your Responsibility: With EXW, you handle everything once your goods are ready at the Korean factory or warehouse. This includes arranging pickup, export customs clearance in Korea, international freight, import customs clearance in your country, and final delivery to your doorstep.
Benefit for You: This option gives you maximum control over your shipping logistics and can often be the most cost-effective if you have established relationships with freight forwarders.
Your Responsibility: You take over responsibility once the goods are loaded onto the shipping vessel (ship) at the designated port in Korea. We cover the costs and risks of getting the goods to the port and loaded onto the ship.
Benefit for You: A good balance if you want us to handle the initial local logistics in Korea, but prefer to manage the international freight and destination customs yourself.
Your Responsibility: We arrange and pay for the main international freight (and insurance) to a named port (CIF) or place (CIP) in your country. You take responsibility once the goods arrive at that port/place, handling import customs clearance and final delivery.
Benefit for You: Simplifies international logistics for you, as we manage the bulk of the shipping process and associated insurance.
Your Responsibility: We handle almost everything! We cover all costs and risks of bringing the goods to a named place in your country, ready for unloading. You are only responsible for import customs clearance and any applicable duties/taxes in your country, and arranging final unloading at your facility.
Benefit for You: This is the most convenient option, offering the least hassle for your team.
Please note: The shipping cost generally increases from EXW (cheapest) to DAP (most expensive), as more responsibility is taken on by the seller (Mayk).
The exact cost of shipping your order depends on several factors:
Incoterm Chosen: As explained above, your choice of Incoterm directly impacts who pays for which part of the journey.
Destination Country: Shipping rates vary significantly by region and country.
Total Weight & Dimensions: The size and weight of your cargo (especially the number of pallets or cartons) are primary cost drivers.
Shipping Method: Air freight is much faster but significantly more expensive than sea freight.
Market Conditions: Global logistics costs can fluctuate based on fuel prices, shipping lane demand, and seasonal peaks.
We will only know the exact shipping cost after your production is completed and the final weight and dimensions of your cargo are confirmed. This is because these factors directly influence the freight quote.
STRICTLY FOR REFERENCE ONLY.
We understand that you need to budget! While we cannot provide exact figures until production is complete, here are some reference estimates based on recent data from 2025 for a single standard pallet (roughly 1,000kg or 1 cubic meter of cosmetics):
Sea Freight, Australia (1 pallet): Approximately $1,000 USD
Sea Freight, Singapore (1 pallet): Approximately $400 USD
Air Freight, Singapore (1 pallet): Approximately $900 USD
DISCLAIMER: These figures are for reference only. Actual costs can vary significantly depending on the specific type and quantity of product, current market rates, fuel surcharges, peak seasons, and other unforeseen factors. We highly recommend using these as a general guide for initial budgeting, and we'll provide a precise quote once your production is finalized.
